Eyelid dermatitis is a very common condition that causes the skin around a person’s eyelid to become very dry, itchy, and irritated. Reportedly, eighty percent of those children who took vitamin D had symptoms that improved. There was not any worsening reported. Those who were in the placebo group stayed the same with their symptoms.

Studies have also shown that people with low levels of Vitamin D tend to experience far worse eczema than those with higher levels of Vitamin D. Taking a supplement of Vitamin D can certainly help with eyelid eczema.

Many people believe that taking too many baths will actually dry out your skin. This is certainly true. However, bathing in moderation can help to alleviate the symptoms associated with dermatitis. With eyelid dermatitis, this can be a bit difficult. You can take a warm bath and in doing so, place a warm, wet cloth over your eye area. As the rag beings to cool, rewet it in your bath water and place it back over the eyes. 

With bathing, it is important to moisturize right after getting out of the bath. The eye area can be difficult to moisturize as you do not want to risk getting anything into your eye. Make sure that what you use is natural so that it does not result in any added irritation.
